The X Young Director Project was planned and initiated by Heaven Pictures, dedicated to supporting young directors, and was launched during the 2019 Shanghai Film Festival.​​

 

The project requires the director to have mature works, or the film is supervised by an internationally renowned director. Now, the X Young Director Program is cooperating with three young directors from mainland China.
